Travel to Halong city, should you stay in Bai Chay or Hon Gai area?

A bridge divides Halong city into 2 areas in terms of price and culture. Cruise Halong bay. Visitors should note and avoid booking in the wrong area and have to call a taxi up to 10km away. I will summarize so everyone knows how to choose the hotel that suits your needs.

Halong city is composed of 2 main areas:

1. Bai Chay: tourist area

- Sun Group's 3km long beach right behind Sunworld amusement park

- The old town front of Sunworld, also known as the old town night market

- Water music area, Sun square - water music only opens in the evenings, usually on weekends at 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. for 15 minutes each performance.

- Sun Square dining area with more than 100 stalls full of regional specialties and games with prizes at very good and reasonable prices. Entrance free.

- Bim Group's Marina Beach right at A La Carte is about 5-6km from Sunworld

2. Hon Gai: residential area, across the bridge

- Check in the Gold-plated clock column

- Check in to Bai Tho mountain for panorama view of the city

- Check in Bai Chay Bridge (Halong's nocturnal chameleon)

- Check in to the artificial beach at Cot 8, the new beach is very long and wide.

- Walk along the beachfront where there are many luxury villas as well as many pubs and seafood restaurants at reasonable prices.

3. In addition, further to Tuan Chau island:

- Thuc Canh Park with King Kong, Flying Lizards...

- Tuan Chau Harbor: Place to visit the Bay and cruise overnight.
